Excitement has been building, the days are cooler, the leaves are changing; fall is finally here! The smell of apples and cinnamon at the food markets makes us giddy about getting prepped for this season. How about you?
There’s lots of fun decorating to do, and we can’t wait to get it all done. Let me update you on what has been happening here at the shop!
This year we wanted to update our fall decorations in the store, so we ordered a whole bunch of new fall foliage sprays and picks, which arrived earlier this week. Just in time for the start of fall today!
We choose greens and neutral foliage for more of a fresh take on traditional fall colors. Fall color pallets do not all have to be just pumpkin orange and browns. They can range from blues and greens to more white and neutral accents. Oranges are quintessentially Fall, so do not be afraid to continue using them, but consider mixing other colors into your decor so that you can use those items for other seasons as well.
For example, these simple white buttercup picks can easily be paired with oranges for fall but then paired with more reds or burgundies for Christmas decorating.
Also, these yellow flowers work well for fall and can be used again in the spring!
For us, here at Vintage Hip Decor, it’s the season of getting busy refinishing table sets as well as buffets and china cabinets. Anyone who will be entertaining friends and family over for the holidays is gearing up to get those dining rooms updated and decorated, (have I mentioned that we also have to refinish our own dining set at home?! But, more behind the scenes about that in the coming weeks on Instagram).
For those of you that may not already know, we offer custom painting here at our shop. In fact, we have been quite busy helping customers get their pieces updated. We also have been gearing up the store by pulling some dining sets and a buffet from our inventory to get them painted!
Dining rooms may not get used as much as other rooms in your home, but when it does get put to good use, it usually means that your whole family is gathered together, choosing to present to share a meal together. We know how important and cherished these special moments are and want to be a part of helping you make that room in your home meaningful and inviting. We love offering a bit of inspiration and believe you can take a look at your dining room differently and decorate it with love.
There are many ways to make your home feel fresh and new for a coming season, whether it is by painting a piece to give it new life or just choosing a different and fresh color scheme to decorate with. Whichever way you decide to welcome the new fall season, remember that you are setting the stage for the memories that your family and friends will make with you.
Here’s to happy fall decorating and an enjoyable season with family and friends.
