Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint comes in a powder form of natural ingredients, including color pigments, milk protein (casein), limestone and clay. It needs to be mixed with water. This nifty little tool, an ordinary frother, with help you do that.
When mixing milk paint with water, tiny little lumps from the natural pigments and other ingredients are visible in the mix. Use the frother, to work out the lumps and get a smoother texture before you paint. Immerse the frother all the way to the bottom of the mixing cup and pulse and stir. Do not actually “froth” the mixture by letting it spin at the top of the mixture.
Let the mixture sit for 15-20 minutes for the lumps to further dissolve and then mix again.
The unique and versatile textures and finishes that can be accomplished with Milk Paint, is worth the little bit of effort to mix it. No other paint will achieve these particular finishes.
